Cyber Robotics 101 Basics

Get your bearings and go go go as you set out to learn the basics of robotic navigation and object detection. This beginner’s course familiarizes kids with how robots work, how to analyze technological systems based on their inputs and outputs, and efficient coding using the repeat loop and code reuse functions. Use it as their entry point to a lifelong love of computer science!

Who this course is for: Teachers and students ages 10-14, with little to no experience in coding and robotics. Short, structured missions and flexible pacing make it engaging for a range of learning levels.

Сourse outline and learning objectives

1
Getting Started
3
missions

Get familiar with the CoderZ learning platform, and discover block categories, and the drive block.

2
Basic Navigation 1
9
missions

Motion planning with drive power, forward and back, left and right point turns, and backward turns.

3
Basic Navigation 2
13
missions

Motion planning with power and steering for curved turns, and Smart Blocks for code reuse (functions).

4
Object Detection
8
missions

Use touch sensor and ‘wait until’ command to code a ‘forward, touch, turn’ motion despite the distance.

5
Repeat Loops
10
missions

Entering code over and over is obnoxious and increases opportunity for error. Meet ‘Repeat times’.
